The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi has stated that the humanitarian consequences on civilians of this conflict will be devastating.

The number of newly displaced families within Ukraine or crossing borders to seek safety keeps increasing dramatically by the hour.

UNHCR is urgently upscaling relief operations across Ukraine and in neighbouring countries to support fleeing civilians. Urgent needs include shelter, relief items such as blankets, and specialist protection – all rely on voluntary donations.

We urgently need your help to ensure that Ukrainians forced to flee their homes are sheltered and safe.

Many of us have raised concerns about the situation in Ukraine and asked about how to support those in need. MDW has partnered with Switzerland for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner for Switzerland, to run a fundraising emergency appeal to support the millions of people forced to flee their homes in search of safety.

Your donation to Switzerland for UNHCR is tax deductible

If you are resident in Switzerland, your donation is tax deductible. Direct federal tax: 20% of net income, provided that the amount of the donation is at least 100 francs. Municipal taxes: depending on the canton, up to 20% of net income for individuals and 20% for companies. For further information, please contact the tax authorities in your canton.
