General emergencies
Away from the headlines, millions of forcibly displaced people are being pushed to the brink.
Refugees and displaced people around the world have been torn away from their homes, their support networks, their jobs and their schools. In countries like Sudan, Chad, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo or Lebanon, life is already difficult, but the increasing cost of living is forcing families to make heartbreaking choices. Should we spend our money on food or school for our children? Should we buy medicine, or pay next month’s rent?
You can provide urgently needed relief by donating now.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, works in more than 135 countries around the world providing lifesaving assistance to people forced to flee their homes. However, severe underfunding and the increasing costs of food and fuel are forcing us to cut basic supplies, cash assistance and protection to millions who rely on us for support.
